Missing a row of teeth makes eating and smiling difficult. An implant-supported bridge lets us replace several missing teeth at once using secure dental implants instead of leaning on your healthy natural teeth for support.
When you are missing several teeth in a row, a traditional bridge requires us to grind down your healthy neighboring teeth to act as anchors. We prefer a better way. By placing a couple of dental implants into the gap, we can anchor a seamless bridge without touching your healthy teeth at all. We help you with:
Feature | Implant-Supported Bridge | Traditional Tooth-Supported Bridge |
|---|---|---|
How It Anchors | Held securely by titanium dental implant posts placed directly in your jaw | Anchored by shaving down healthy neighboring teeth for support |
Neighboring Teeth | Left completely untouched and healthy | Requires shaving down healthy tooth enamel for crowns |
Bone Health | Keeps your jawbone stimulated and strong | Does nothing for the bone underneath, which can shrink over time |
We take detailed 3D scans of your mouth to check your bone levels and plan the exact spots for your implants.
We place your implant posts gently using local anesthesia to keep you comfortable the whole time.
We give your jaw a few months to heal and fuse tightly around the implants so they form a rock-solid base.
We attach your custom-crafted porcelain bridge to the implants, check your bite, and complete your new smile.
When Dr. Mohammad Hammoud plans an implant bridge, he looks closely at how your bite fits together. Because a bridge handles the chewing force for several missing teeth, the placement has to be balanced against your opposing teeth, which is why we plan it on our in-house CBCT scan rather than working from a flat x-ray.
We use local anesthesia and offer sedation. You will feel pressure while we place the implants, but you should not feel sharp pain, and any soreness afterward is mild and easy to manage.
Usually, we can replace three or more teeth in a row using just two or three well-placed implants to hold the bridge securely.
Because the bridge sits close to your gums, we will show you how to use simple floss threaders or small interdental brushes to keep the area underneath fresh and clean every day.
With good daily brushing, flossing, and regular checkups with our team, an implant-supported bridge can last for decades. The porcelain can chip like a natural tooth, and we repair or replace it when it does.
