Dynamic wrinkles form from years of repetitive facial movements like smiling, squinting, and frowning. We use targeted botulinum toxin treatments to temporarily relax these specific muscles, softening existing lines and helping slow the formation of deeper creases.
Botulinum toxin is a highly purified protein. Dr. Hammoud uses Xeomin, which is botulinum toxin type A, the same class of product as Botox. It works by temporarily interrupting the nerve signals that tell specific facial muscles to contract. When the underlying muscle relaxes, the skin above it smooths out. We use this targeted approach to help you by:
Treatment Area | Clinical Mechanism | The Aesthetic Result |
|---|---|---|
Glabellar Lines (Frown Lines) | Relaxes the corrugator muscles between the eyebrows | Softens the deep "11" creases that form when you furrow your brow |
Frontalis (Forehead Lines) | Reduces the upward pull of the broad forehead muscle | Smooths horizontal lines while maintaining natural eyebrow elevation |
Orbicularis Oculi (Crow's Feet) | Relaxes the circular muscles surrounding the eyes | Softens the fine lines that branch out when you squint or smile |
We evaluate your facial symmetry and ask you to make various expressions so we can identify exactly which muscles are pulling the skin.
We map out precise injection points based on your unique muscle mass and anatomical structure.
Using an ultra-fine needle, we deliver precise units of the product directly into the targeted muscle fibers.
The muscle relaxation takes a few days to take effect. We review your results at the two-week mark and set up a maintenance schedule.
As a dentist, Dr. Mohammad Hammoud administers injections in the maxillofacial region daily. He understands that facial muscles do not work in isolation. If you relax one muscle group, the opposing muscles may pull differently. We focus on conservative dosing to ensure your face remains expressive and natural, deliberately avoiding the stiff or "frozen" look that comes from over-treatment.
You will feel a quick, mild pinch during each injection. The needle we use is extremely fine, and most patients tolerate the brief discomfort easily without the need for topical numbing cream.
You will typically notice the muscles starting to relax within three to seven days. The medication reaches its peak effect roughly two weeks after your appointment.
Your body naturally metabolizes the protein over time. For most patients, the muscle relaxation lasts between three and four months before the movement gradually returns.
It should not. We use a conservative approach designed to soften harsh lines while preserving your ability to smile, frown naturally, and express emotion.
