If you have been told you need extensive dental work, complex surgery, or multiple extractions, it is normal to want reassurance before proceeding. We provide clear, unbiased clinical second opinions to help you understand your diagnosis and explore all your options.
Dentistry is not always black and white. Different dentists have different training backgrounds, technologies, and treatment philosophies. Getting a second opinion does not mean your first dentist was wrong; it simply gives you more data to make an informed choice. We evaluate your existing records and perform our own assessment to help you by:
Scenario | Why It Helps |
|---|---|
Extensive Restorative Work | Confirms whether full mouth crowns or multiple implants are the only viable solution |
Tooth Extraction | Allows us to check if advanced endodontic (root canal) therapy can save the tooth instead |
Persistent Pain | Brings a fresh set of eyes and advanced 3D imaging to locate issues that standard 2D X-rays might miss |
You provide us with the treatment plan and any recent X-rays from your previous dentist so we can understand what was proposed.
We perform a focused exam on the specific teeth in question, occasionally taking new 3D imaging if we need a clearer view of the underlying bone.
We sit down with you to review our findings, showing you the X-rays and explaining exactly what is happening structurally.
If there are other ways to manage your condition, we explain the pros, cons, and limitations of each approach so you can decide how to proceed.
When you visit Dr. Mohammad Hammoud for a second opinion, our goal is education, not sales. If we review your records and agree completely with your previous dentist's recommendation, we will tell you directly. If we see a more conservative path, we will outline exactly how that procedure works and why we feel it is a better fit for your anatomy.
No, that is entirely up to you. Many patients prefer to gather information privately before making a final decision regarding their care.
If your current X-rays are recent and clear, we can often use them. However, if they are low quality or if we need to see the exact depth of the bone for an implant, we may recommend taking a new 3D CBCT scan in our office.
Not at all. We provide the clinical information you need to make an informed choice. You are welcome to take our proposed plan back to your original dentist if you feel more comfortable having the work completed there.
If our diagnosis differs, we will physically show you the evidence on your X-rays or digital scans. We explain the mechanics behind our reasoning so you understand exactly why our approach differs.
If you are feeling rushed or unsure about a major dental procedure, contact our Dearborn team today to schedule an unbiased second opinion consultation.
